7/13/21-A Conversation with Dr. Wael Al-Delaimy

Dr. Al-Delaimy is a professor, epidemiologist, and researcher at the University of California San Diego. His global research activities are in non-communicable diseases, including mental health, climate change, and tobacco, among other things. We are excited to find out more about his work, especially around the topic of hookah.

6/8/21-A Conversation with Dr. Lydia Greiner

Dr. Greiner is the Coordinator for the Thirdhand Smoke Resource Center. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center. With more than twenty years of experience in community-based health promotion, she collaborates with other members of the Center Team, thirdhand smoke researchers, and community stakeholders in the outreach and dissemination efforts of the Center.

5/11/21-Tobacco Tuesday Takeover with the American Lung Association

Pierra Moise and Loralee Olejnik from the American Lung Association give some insight on the work they are doing to combat secondhand smoke and are joined by special guest, Janan Moein, a young vaping prevention advocate who survived EVALI. Janan has been featured in the New York Times, sharing his story in the connection of COVID-19 and vaping.

Additionally, Chair Fletcher has been a leader throughout San Diego County on tobacco control and prevention efforts.
